Food anatomization : Cafe Richmond's, Magarpatta - Pune

Seeing the big placard of Litti Chokha being served in this place - I was highly tempted to try this place.

Litti Chokha is a very famous traditional dish from Bihar/Jharkhand majorly. Litti Chokha is ata dough rolled into balls and stuffed with sattu along with other spicy herbs and other masales. It is served along with baigan ka bharta.

The place is a casual snacks place, offering a wide variety of snacking options. It houses about 5-6 odd tables, is just beside Global Punjab.

We ordered for the LITTI CHOKHA with ghee.
The dish was really not at par at all. The litti was not baked to its fullest, lacked flavors. They went wrong even in the chokha - which is never an grueling task to prepare. The dish was accompanied with a khatti-mithi chutney.

My high hopes were shattered in a fragment of time.

And it is priced high for the two pieces of litti with chokha.

Food anatomization : The Corner House, Jayanagar - Bangalore

Highly disappointed with my first dig at the DEATH BY CHOCOLATE - a long strand of hair. Yeeks!!! When I took the bowl back to them, they did make me another servings of the dessert but not flinch on their face for apology for such an unhygienic serving.
I am pretty sure, this one review would not deter anyone from visiting this place - since having tasted their DBC I am also a fan of their decadent dessert. But a simple gesture to acknowledge the customer's complaint by the management by talking out would have been appreciating.

Anyhow, after the drastic experience - we started with our dessert. It looked relishing and luxe.
The DEATH BY CHOCOLATE - can happily serve 2. It is loaded with generous portions of layers of vanilla ice cream, topped with a chocolate cake. The cake is dressed with crème, honey, chocolate sauce, cherries and loads of peanuts. The peanuts were totally the icing on the cake - they imparted a soul touching taste. Each bite was indeed heavenly.
We had ordered for a HOT CHOCOLATE FUDGE - it was vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce and loads of peanuts.
I was totally ecstatic with both the desserts - had it just not been for the experience at the beginning - this place would have had my heart!!

We were here around 2215-ish , and the crowd was just flowing in. The place houses about 8-9 tables, a small yet not so fancy place. They have made a subtle and deliberate attempt to add a few wall hangings, else no work done to uplift the simplicity of the place.

Food anatomization : The bowl house, Amanora Mall - Pune

Had visited this place for dinner, right before going for a movie. I had never noticed this place on the fourth floor - maybe its location is its disadvantage, lying at one corner of the floor. It can be easily missed. :D

The bowl house, the name was quite intriguing which pushed me to try this place.
The place serves Chinese and Asian delicacies.

Their menu offers immense options in veg and non-veg dishes from soups, salads, sizzlers...

They have both indoor and alfresco seating arrangements.
The indoor décor looked interesting - statue of Buddha added to the décor. hey have a in-house bar which is in an interesting shape. It houses only may be around 10 tables.
The cool, breezy weather attributed us to opt for the alfresco seating - quite spacious and you enjoy your time hogging and gossiping away. :)
Totally enjoyed the ambiance.

For starters we ordered for the CHICKEN SATAY - tasted good, the chicken was nicely done. It was served with five pieces in the form of long flattened kebabs on wooden skewers along with sauces.
The MONGOLIAN CHICKEN KEBAB - kebab in Chinese cuisine, sounded interesting. It was served on a sizzler plate. Small succulent chicken pieces served with tooth picks on top. It aided to a certain amount of ease while eating. Sadly to mention I did not like the dish much. It didn't have the taste of kebab nor the distinct Chinese flavor. It was just chicken sauté with some spices.

For the main course, we had the DRUNKEN SPICY NOODLES - Malaysian flat fried noodles with veggies and chicken - again an average dish. I had pinned high hopes on the noodles. It somehow tasted too bland to me.
Another side in the main course was the CHILLI GARLIC CHICKEN -a dish in gravy to go with the noodles.  We had carefully chosen this dish since every restaurant serving Chinese won’t fail on this but alas another disappointment, it was just about ok! :(
Then we had a stir fried delicacy that was the KUNG PAO CHICKEN  – the dish was really tasty, fried chicken cooked with all the tangy sauces and veggies, finally one tasty dish in the main course. Flawless :)

Coming to the service, service was prompt but clumsy.

In all a decent place for casual dinner.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Happened to visit this place again for a team lunch. We went in for the buffet lunch this time.

The buffet was indeed much-much better than the ala-carte items that I have had here.

For starters, they served with the CHICKEN MANCHOW SOUP WITH FRIED NOODLES.The soup was tasty.

Then we had the veg spring rolls, veg Manchurian, chicken wings, crispy veg, chicken wonton, chicken crispy fry.
The starters were all very yummy. Impressive! They tasted really good, except the veg Manchurian which was a bit oily.
By the time we finished the starters itself, we were pretty full. We had ample servings of starters.
To say, really after a long time - I had such tasty Chinese starters.
They served the starters on our table itself, which added to our convenience.

For main course, they had limited options only - chicken fried rice, veg noodles, chicken in szechwan sauce, paneer in black pepper, a dish in fish, and vegetables in holy basil sauce.
The main course was good - decent actually. I liked the paneer in black pepper more than any of the nonveg dishes on their buffet. But you can try all the dishes - worth it!

And for desserts they had the awesome ICE CREAM WITH HONEY NOODLES accompanied with chocolate sauce - it was wow - specially the honey combed noodles. I am in loss of words!! :)

For this visit of mine, I would rate it a 4.0.

This place serves buffet much better than the ala-carte items.

The service was also comparatively prompt and nice, and a lesser clumsy this time.

Food anatomization : Barbeque Nation, Amanora Mall

Happen to visit this place yesterday - yet another time. And without a fail, I have neither found the food nor the service deteriorating in any of my visits.
It goes by rule that you can expect the similar kind of service on each visit - prompt and courteous! :)

Do make sure to create a good appetite, if you do not wish to miss out on some of the awesome mouth watering grilled starters.:)

Of course, the place is famed for its variety of grilled barbeque-d starters.

Each definite day has its own menu chalked down - off the grill and the buffet.

The non vegetarian's delight is the taste of both the vegetarian dishes and the non vegetarian ones.
And my god the delicacies range from the ultra delicious Grilled chicken - Prawns - Fish - MUTTON to the GRILLED Paneer , Crispy Corn, Mushrooms, Soyas, Cauliflowers and of course the special CAJUNE SPICED potatoes.
The starters have very distinct stunning flavors - inexpressible.
My favorites here always fall between the GRILLED PRAWNS and the TANGDI CHICKEN - that one leg piece is my absolute piece of delight. The dishes are grilled to extra perfection - top notch. They would not give you a chance to complain one bit. :)

It is quite a sight seeing each and everyone just wolfing down the food - from the kidos to the adults!!

The food without question is great albeit I have never been a great fan of their main course.
They offer a wide spread in the main course, but personally I have never found more than 1-2 dishes delectable in comparison to their starters :D
Nothing beats their starters - heavenly!

Coming to the deserts - the show steal-ers. Mind blowing - with the combination of ice-creams, gulab jamuns, pastries, mousse, kheer, cut-fruits what more can you ask for, to your meal to end with. Peace!
Yummy - mouth watering - and totally satiating!!

All said and done, just that on a Friday evening - they can make a mark - play some loud music and give everyone the bang needed to start for the weekend. :)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another visit - and like always I am kind of still relishing the flavors from my visit.

The live pasta counter - is a pleasant surprise. The quick pasta in about 3-4 minutes is indeed luscious.

The kulfi counter - one of the other best things that can happen to the guests. :) The PAN KULFI is my utter favorite. The MANGO KULFI was flavorsome as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Must visit for one and all!! :)
