Food anatomization : Fly High, Amanora Mall - Pune

Seasons is just flooding with fresh eat outs.

Fly high is a nice improvisation over WTF. None the less I am really taken aback that WTF shut down.

Fly high have used more or less the similar décor as of WTF. The bar is intact - only they have expanded the seating area to include a mini discotheque. The crowd is using the space well to loosen up on a weekend after a busy day at work. :)
There was some very loud, high end music being played  here - kudos to the DJ, totally enthralling the crowd with the beats.

It was during the WC days that we visited this place. As the evening paced, they started screening the match too.

The places houses around 15 tables approximately in the outside seating area and about 5 tables inside. The place is bustling with people and was jam packed - I was astounded with the pack there.
Since the place is very limited in spacing - privacy could be a concern with tables being really close to each other.

Coming to the menu - dejavu feeling, very similar to WTF - just varied menu, but concept remaining the same. Wondering if it is a some sort of a successor of WTF?!
Limited in their offerings in mains. Starters still did have options.
The menu was designed with an airplane theme - with the kind of do's and don'ts when in the plane and emergency landing information.
Fly High with precaution maybe!! :D :D

Coming to the food - we had starters only.

They had some special menu for the day which was serving the TANDOORI PRAWNS - soft and juicy prawns tandoor-ed, served with green chutney. Nice!
The MEAN ASS CHILLI CHICKEN - hahahaha...what a name!! Succulent pieces of chicken tossed with green, yellow and red bell peppers. A well prepared dish.

And finally the FLY HIGH KEBABS - was served along with green chutney. For some reason the green chutney was tad bit salty, when I informed the aviator he suggested I have the mayo to go along - hesitant still I said yes - and to my surprise it really added to the taste. The kebabs were soft, yet there was some sort of a miss in the dish. Didn't fly high with me. :|

The aviators is what they call the servers - really friendly and courteous. Served us well. :)

Food anatomization : Vohuman Cafe, Sasson Road - Pune

Surprising how such a small place stands being so crowded right next to Marriott courtyard!
A small Iranian cafe, easy to miss on the road, but gosh, the crowd it attracts! Commendable. It has absolutely no decor, I assume they never even tried, since it already attracts a lot of people. :)

It houses about 15 tables, and there is no way that you can find a table without having to wait at least for 20 minutes. :D

It serves very limited stuff. But whatever they serve is just worth the wait.
The must try is the bun muska and chai, awesome combo, for once it won't pinch to intake such amounts of butter in your food. :P

And the cheese omelette, is just lip smackingly awesome, simple yet very tasty. For once I didn't mind the amount of cheese and butter I had. :D
It is surprising how such simple dishes can be made sooooo tasty. :)

But yes the wait for the food is also long, since there is only person taking the orders and serving.

Overall, must try to this legendary place.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the revamp of the café, it was long due that I visit Vohuman.
And my my, even after the major expansion - you still need to queue up for a seat.
They have expanded their café over two floors now housing about 30 or more odd tables.

As you enter, you will notice quite some effort has been made on the décor compared to the existing café setup. They have placed pictures of their earlier café,certificates from Burpp and Zomato, few mirrors and some niche lighting.

Right at the entrance is the counter, where you will see find the Irani uncle handling all the billings and side by is their toast counter with humongous pile of butter. There is one guy who is just continuously applying butter on the numerous toasts awaiting from the orders.

The taste of everything remains the same - chai is a pura must have. The bun butter and toast butter with layers of butter won't hurt to intake. :D :D Trust me the taste would make your forget the calorie count. :P :P

To cater to the needs of the customers is still an uphill task but the guys are managing well. Kudos, to the one guy who can remembers every order placed in the café and to top it he also bills them aptly.

The café would never disappoint you.

Again I would reinstate a must try legendary café.

Food anatomization : Social Clinic, Koregaon Park - Pune

Hearing a lot of buzz about Social Clinic - tempted me to give this place a shot on one crazy weekend.

Social Clinic, located in the heart of Koregaon Park, has three restaurants lined up in one building. I believe Social Clinic replaces Post 91.

First floor houses the Social Clinic, the second floor hosts the Donkey's Arse and third has the Superheroes - which is more of a play area for the kids.
Social Clinic - going by the name - is a hospital themed restaurant. The servers are dressed as nurses and ward boys. The seating arrangement offers you wheelchair seats and OPD stretchers for tables.
The cutleries are kept in part stretchers. They flaunt of a dental chair as a part of the décor.
At the other end of the floor is the bar.

The social media was going crazy with the theme - but sadly it failed to impress me even tad bit. The chemical bonds on the walls,a picture of a sexy nurse and an ambulance - does not justify the theming. It could have been themed way better which would have also allowed the people to sink in with the theme.

Coming to the food - their menu offered variety of dishes. But it was kind of jumbled up - Indian, Chinese : would have preferred it more organized and sorted out manner.

We ordered for CHICKEN SHWARMAS - to my surprise it was relishing. The sauce spread along with the shredded chicken pieces, salads and the arabic flavors added to my fondness for the dish. Add ons were the hummus and tahini dips. I truly was content with the taste of the shwarma. Yummy...

The CHILLI BASIL FISH - tender pieces of fish coated in flour, deep fried and sprinkled with sesame seeds and few strands of basil leaves - having tangy flavors with a combination of sweet-chilli taste. It came very close to making a mark.

Coming to the mains - we went for the KUNG PAO PANEER WITH NOODLES. Paneer spiced up with Kung Pao sauce which is usually a combination of many ingredients like the garlic, ginger, dark soy sauce, vinegar and sugar etc cooked together was done well.
The dish had a thick gravy cooked with green veggies, crushed peanuts and red chillies. It was a good dish I would say - did ok of the three that we ordered.
It complemented well with the noodles. The noodles were simple - dressed with sliced green-red bell pepper and onions - a very effortless preparation.

Service was good - the staff was courteous.
